Rubber Roller Engineering
Coreline Rollers provides engineering support for applications where performance, material, and operating conditions all need to be aligned. We work with your team to evaluate how the roller is functioning or how it will function in your process and determine what needs to change to improve consistency, reduce wear, solve ongoing issues, or support a new application from the ground up.
Material and Design Guidance
Material selection is one of the most common sources of performance issues. A roller may be technically “in spec” but still fail in real operating conditions.
We help evaluate:
- Material compatibility with heat, chemicals, and wear conditions
- Durometer and how it affects deformation and contact
- Surface finish and how it impacts traction, release, or coating behavior
- Construction approach based on load and speed
- Core construction requirements for new or replacement rollers
If a different material or design will improve performance, we’ll walk through the tradeoffs and recommend a path forward.
Support for New and Existing Equipment
Engineering support isn’t limited to troubleshooting or repair work. We also work with teams during equipment changes, new line setups, or process adjustments.
This includes:
- Specifying rollers for new applications
- Reviewing existing designs before manufacturing
- Supporting multi-location operations that need consistent performance across facilities
Our goal is to make sure the roller is right before it ever hits the line.
Reverse Engineering Support
When a roller fails, missing prints or outdated specifications can slow down production and make replacement more difficult than it should be. We work with manufacturers that need to replace, replicate, or improve existing rollers, even when original design documentation is incomplete or unavailable.
Our team evaluates the existing roller and the application it runs in to identify the specifications that matter most to performance, durability, and consistency. That includes material composition, durometer, dimensions, core construction, surface finish, and covering requirements, along with any design factors contributing to premature wear or ongoing process issues.
From there, we can manufacture a replacement roller, recommend design improvements, or help standardize roller specifications across facilities and production lines. The goal is straightforward: keep your operation moving with a roller solution that fits the application and supports long-term performance.
